About Miss Jenny,
Founding Director
(and a little about how LPBC came to be)
It was love at first plié when Jennifer Burcham-Flores took her first ballet lesson at 4 years old. Over the next 15 years she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe in Greensboro, North Carolina, competing regionally and nationally on her studio's team. She continued her study in ballet at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro but switched gears along the way and graduated with a BA in English. She went on to earn her teaching licensure, also from UNC-Greensboro, and an MA in English from East Carolina University. She is a licensed teacher with over 16 years of experience teaching children in North Carolina public schools. Through the years, she continued her study and practice of ballet informally. In September 2021, Jennifer followed a dream God placed in her heart and started an afterschool ballet program to share her love of ballet with elementary school students, believing that all young people should have access to dance education. The goal was to make young people feel like they are a part of something special, important, and beautiful--an after school ballet club created just for them. The program was a success from the start, with 67 dancers the first year, and 97 dancers the second year! Watching the little dancers fall in love with ballet and grow in confidence and grace became her greatest joy and soon, Le Petit Ballet Co.'s mission.
In January 2023, Le Petit Ballet Co. grew from that first school to 11 schools in and around Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC. By fall session of 2025, LPBC currently has 48 partner schools in North Carolina, from Winston-Salem to Raleigh. Jennifer and her staff of ballet instructors are thrilled to share their love of dance with more children every day now. We love our LPBC dancers and families and feel so blessed to help them experience the beauty and magic of ballet.
