About Miss Jenny,
Founding Director

(and a little about how LPBC came to be)

It was love at first plié when Jennifer Burcham-Flores took her first ballet lesson at 4 years old. Over the next 15 years she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe in Greensboro, North Carolina, competing regionally and nationally. She continued her study in ballet at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro but switched gears and graduated with a BA in English. She went on to earn her teaching licensure, also from UNC-Greensboro, and an MA in English from East Carolina University. She is a licensed teacher with over 16 years of experience teaching children in North Carolina public schools. Through the years, she continued her study and practice of ballet informally. In September 2021, Jennifer followed her heart and started an afterschool ballet program to share her love of ballet with elementary school students, believing that all young people should have access to dance education. The program was a success from the start, with 67 dancers the very first session, and 97 dancers the second year! Watching the little dancers fall in love with ballet and grow in confidence and grace became her greatest joy and grew into Le Petit Ballet Co.'s mission. Jennifer is thrilled to share her love of dance with more children every day now. She loves each of her dancers and feels so blessed to help them experience the beauty and magic of ballet.
